Take a Bite Out of Taste Addison This Spring

Celebration of food, music, and fun, Taste Addison (May 19 – 21) dishes out the best food and flavor with a healthy side of jam. The community is invited to experience a preview of the festival during the Taste Tuesdays events. At each Taste Tuesday, several Taste Addison restaurants will hand out bites from their festival menu. Additionally, guests have a chance to win Taste Addison admission tickets and swag. The Taste Tuesday events are free and open to the public, and it does not require a ticket to attend.

A three-day menu of fun, May 19-21, 2017, Taste Addison delivers Addison’s favorite eateries with great music at Addison Circle Park. On Friday, May 19, see a high-energy performance by Dallas’ own Vanilla Ice. Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden Presents ZimSculpt Exhibit

DALLAS, Texas, Spring 2017 – The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden presents international blockbuster exhibit ZimSculpt, an exhibition of contemporary stone sculptures that appears for the first time in the southern U.S. More than 100 exquisite Zimbabwean modern sculptures are artfully displayed throughout the garden from April 15 to July 31.

Known as Shona sculpture, these contemporary pieces are carved from various types of serpentine and semi-precious stone, often weighing tons, and can be as large as seven feet tall. As part of the exhibit, guests are welcome to watch artists and sculptors Passmore Mupindiko and Aron Kapembeza demonstrate their artistry carving statues daily in The Marketplace, which is located in Dallas Arboretum’s Pecan Grove.

Visitors may purchase any of the sculptures on display in the garden, as well as the ones created by the onsite artists in The Marketplace. The Marketplace will be open to guests seven days a week, and on Wednesday evenings, selling sculptures of all sizes. Commissioned pieces can be ordered and made onsite by the artists.

Jerusalem Returns to the Omni Theater

Jerusalem, held sacred by three religious traditions and one of the most important cities in the world is yours to explore again at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Audiences will experience this ancient, enigmatic place through distinct perspectives when Jerusalem returned to the Omni Theater on April 8th.


Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Jerusalem gives audiences a rare glimpse of the storied city, as well as exclusive access to holy sites including the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock, the Church of the Sepulchre, the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee and the mountain fortress of Masada. Jerusalem soars high above the Holy Land and plunges deep into the vibrant Old City while exploring the intersection of science, history and religion in this sacred place.

Jerusalem is rated G and has a run time of 40 minutes.

“CARS 3″ Road to the Races Rolls Into DFW



Road to the Races, a nationwide tour inviting fans of #95 to gear up for the upcoming big-screen release of Disney Pixar’s “Cars 3.” Fans will take part in a host of activities and get a sneak peek of the movie.


  • Mattel presents an interactive play area, which sends Lightning McQueen and other racers down the gravity drop and launches them into action in new play sets that feature locations from the movie. Also on display will be a collection of die cast racers from past and present.
  • Fans will be able to catch a sneak peek of the movie in the Cinetransformer Mobile Movie Theater. Visitors will also be able to take photos with the life-size character cars.
  • Coppertone® is creating a racer pit crew that encourages visitors to take part in a tire-changing activity and photo-sharing opportunity. A leader in the sun care industry, Coppertone is made by Bayer HealthCare, LLC.
